The cow talking bag clip

Have you every noticed the first section you see when you walk into a Bed, Bath and Beyond store is the “Beyond”, that is, the kitchen? You actually have to go two thirds around the store to get to the Bed section and almost a full round to reach the Bath section. I wonder if someone in corporate ever thought about that one.

I can’t remember the last time I walked into a Bed, Bath and Beyond store but I finally did, in search of a cherry pitter. They only had one model on display in the Kitchen section, so I performed a kick loop around the area to see if I could find another one before making my final choice. I didn’t find any other but I found a few cow items along the way.

The first one is a cow talking bag clip. It actually moos when you press on the cow’s head. And look, they also have a pig talking bag clip that oinks. How cute!

The second cow sighting was a set of cutting boards from Casabella. Each set has a different drawing on it: a cow, a carrot, a chicken and a fish. I doubt the cutting board is big enough to slice a whole cow!

Would a cow make a good librarian?

For his sixth birthday last week, my son got several toys but also a number of books. One of them is Mercer Mayer’s Little Critter Storybook Collection, which compiles seven Little Critter stories in one big book.

One of the stories is called Little Critter: Just a School Project. As soon as we saw the story cover, it made us wonder who this cow in the background was.

Well, it didn’t take us long to figure out the cow is the city librarian, who helps Little Critter finding a subject for his science project at school (caterpillars).

The glasses sitting on the top of the muzzle and their dangling chain should have given it away.

Did you see the cow in the movie Puss in Boots?

My kids recently started watching the new Puss in Boots movie and they love it. In fact they ask to watch it at least once a week and don’t seem to get tired of it. If you haven’t seen this movie yet, I recommend it. It’s full of humor, adventures, twists and surprises.

There’s a very funny scene (and very popular on YouTube) where Puss in Boots and Kitty Soft Paws meet in a cat bar and start a dance fight. Look who’s behind the bar… a cow! You probably wonder why a cow would be in a bar, but remember it’s a car bar. And what do cats drink? Milk, lots of milk. And take a look at the milk tap handles? Cow heads. Lovely.

Now you can go 1:45 minute in the video below and that’s when you’ll see the first appearance of the cow during the dance fight. You’ll see it again a few seconds later when two cats use its cow bell to add to the background music. Enjoy!

The bull who thinks he’s a rabbit

My eldest likes to read books on his own now that he’s an independent reader, so I’ve been getting him a bunch of books at his reading level from the library. One of them is called Way Out West with Pirate Pete & Pirate Joe by A.E. Cannon.

This book is full of adventures and surprises: a couple of missing cousins, a mystery to solve, a surprise birthday party and… a bull who thinks he’s a rabbit!

A hopping bull who likes to crunch on carrots. Just when I thought I’d seen it all.

It’s a bull pinata!

Earlier this week I spent a lot of time  looking at birthday party supplies since my little big man is turning six today. Target actually has a decent amount of birthday supplies to pick from and we got a few party favors from there too.

Now, did you know they have birthday pinatas at Target? One of them is a star and the other is… a bull pinata! Look how cute it is.

It reminds me of the cow pinata Curious George tried to break in a birthday party TV episode. Who knew bull pinatas exist in real life? And if you’re wondering… Nope, I didn’t buy it, even though the temptation was there.
