This cow is doing something no cow has ever done before

I got to see my daily cow early today. Very early. As in, breakfast time early. It was quietly waiting for me on the kitchen table, where I was about to place my kids’ breakfast plates.

Are you ready to see it? Ta-da!

Safety Zone Big first grade workbook with a cow, and a pig, and a duck

Look, it’s Safety Zone’s Big first grade workbook with a cow, and a pig, and a duck on the cover! Did you see what they’re in? A space shuttle! And the cow is driving it. I can truly say this cow is doing something no cow has ever done before. That’s how smart kids will be when they finish this workbook. I can’t wait.

Actually I really can’t say anything bad about this Big first grade workbook because I really like it and so does my kid. All of the Safety Zone workbook series are very well designed, with lots of colorful activities that are fun to complete and kids get to learn and practice a lot, without even realizing it.

I just can’t get that image of the cow driving a space shuttle out of my mind, though. Can you?

Is Target trying to compete with Pillow Pets?

If you don’t know what Pillow Pets are, look on Amazon and you’ll find quite a lot of them there. You should also read my cow post on Pillow Pets.

I stopped by Target a few days ago with my kids, with the goal of buying a few grocery staples. Of course, we can’t go to Target just to buy food, so we had to make a pit stop by the toy department and see what was new. Apparently, a lot. At least that’s what my boys said.

But I myself found something new too. Target’s homemade version of Pillow Pets. Look how cute this cow is!

I have never seen such flat udders though. Poor cow…

Target has a number of other animal pillows, including a sheep, a bear, and of course a pig. A very pink pig.

This poor little guy fell off the hook. I guess he was waiting for someone like me to rescue him.

Do you have a Pillow Pets, by the way? They look pretty comfy.

It’s a cow Halloween costume for… dogs?

Sure, there are plenty of Halloween costumes for kids and adults alike. But there are also lots of Halloween costumes for pets. OK, mostly for dogs. Have you ever tried to put a costume on a cat without fearing painful retribution?

I stopped by Petsmart a few days ago to get some cat litter, and on my way to the register I spotted several Halloween costumes for dogs.

Here’s the back of the cow costume for dogs. Lovely!

And here’s the front of this Halloween cow costume for dogs. You’ve got to love the golden bell and the weird looking udders.

And if you’re more of a pig lover than a cow lover, don’t despair. Here’s your Halloween pig costume for dogs. That’s a lot of pink. Oh wait, that’s not a pig, it’s a hippo! A bright pink hippo. Because hippos look just like that in the wild. Just when I thought I’d seen it all.

Cow on a bike

I recently borrowed the hilarious children’s book Duck on a Bike by David Shannon from the library.

Would you expect to see a cow in this book? Well, there’s only one but it appears on several pages and makes quite a lot of funny faces worth sharing.

In this book, Duck tries a child’s bike and the farm animals all think it doesn’t look like a good way to have fun. Here’s Cow’s reaction as Duck rolls by her: “A duck on a bike? That’s the silliest thing I’ve ever seen!”

By the time Duck has paraded in front of all the animals, a group of kids on bikes arrives the farm. The kids leave their bikes by the barn and suddenly, the farm animals get an idea. Can you guess what it is?

Have you ever seen a cow and a horse with bigger eyes?

Are you ready for the grand finale? Here’s how you can entertain farm animals with a bunch of bikes. I present you cow on a bike. And horse on a bike, goat on a bike, pig on a bike… I think they’re ready for the circus.

That darn Red Bull truck…

People in my town must be really tired (I know I am) because I’ve been seeing the Red Bull delivery truck more often in the past few weeks. I’m guessing the truck driver drinks a lot of Red Bull because I never manage to take a picture of the truck before it disappears around the corner.

Well, yesterday was my lucky day because I managed to take this photo as the truck was turning left at a light.

Consider this post a bonus edition, because look at the cute cow puppet I spotted at Michael’s art & craft store this past weekend. Of course, BFF (best friend forever) Piggy is right behind as always. This cow is begging me to take her home…
