After an adventurous morning, I decided to take my kids to one of their (and my) favorite places for lunch, Panda Express.
By the way, their panda illustration looks soooo much alike the illustrations you see on the San Diego Zoo t-shirts and sweatshirts. I wonder who copied who. Take a look, it’s exactly the same angled panda. I find the resemblance quite stunning.
What’s our favorite plate at Panda Express? Chow mein, chicken and green beans, and of course their famous orange chicken. The decor is very panda focused, with large photos of pandas on the walls. If you pay close attention though, you may spot a cow. Or two. Or… many! Check out this painting:
Pretty neat, huh? I wonder if they have the same cow painting in all Panda Express locations. You’ll have to let me know!
Now, for a fun anecdote before I log off. We’ve all heard a lot about Somalian pirates, but have you ever heard of panda pirates? If you haven’t, you’ll need to visit your local Panda Express to see this up close:
“Live by the sword, eat by the hook!” Look, it’s not shrimp on the barbie, it’s shrimp on the hook! These are to be the least threatening, cutest pirates I’ve ever seen! Aw, they’re even sitting in the lotus position…
