“Cows Going Past”: a book dedicated to cows

After yesterday’s numerous cow sightings at the library, you had to expect I’d be talking more about cows in books today. Here’s a book that’s just full of cows from beginning to end – Cows Going Past by Bruce Balan.

The colorful illustrations and the large print, easy-to-read font make it a fun book for kids to read, with parents or on their own. It features cows in a variety of situations you’d never imagine a cow doing, including mini-golf:

Doesn’t it look like fun? I wonder if they try to eat the artificial turf…

Then there are the fishing cows:

On this page, the author ponders, do cows dream? This is the first answer my oldest came up with: yes, they dream about cow poop! Sounds like a nightmare to me…

Have you ever fantasized about running through a field full of flowers? Apparently cows can do it in real life. Heck, they do graze in flowery fields (at least the lucky ones), so why not:

Going back to the cow dream question, I want to think this is what cows dream about when they sleep. Don’t you?

  1. Nice, I like the variety of cows in this one!

  2. Almost anything would be better than dreaming of cow poop! LOL
