We borrowed the book There’s a Cow on the Roof by Eric Maddern a few weeks ago from the library and the kids really enjoy this story, so we got a chance to read it again tonight.
I mentioned this book at the time I got it from the library and I told you about its premise, but I thought I’d share the funniest picture of all tonight. As the farmer gets busy trying to keep up with his wife’s tasks, he doesn’t think he has enough time to take the cow to the field. So he does the next best thing and pushes her onto the grassy roof to munch. He puts a rope around the cow’s neck, and throws the rope into the chimney. Back in the house he ties the rope to his leg. The cow ends up tripping and pulling the farmer up the chimney – not a pretty sight.
Here’s the cow as it’s falling off the roof – precious sight!
I love the heart-shaped pattern on the cow’s forehead, a very nice touch.
