Tailgaters beware – this is no ordinary bull!

I’ll be kind enough to spare you with the long list of cows I encountered in children’s videos and books tonight. Instead I’ll share what I stumbled upon in a driveway this afternoon.

As I was walking my son back to my car after picking him up at daycare, I spotted the most disturbing interesting trailer hitch cover I’ve ever seen:

How spooky is that? My son couldn’t keep his hands off it – it’s that mesmerizing. And it really beats the Texas Longhorn decal I saw the other day on a truck! I didn’t notice when I was taking pictures but my husband pointed out that the bull plugs into the truck. Apparently, the red LED eyes light up every time the driver touches the brakes. No tailgating here!

If you just fell in love with this beauty and are wondering where to get one for yourself, this Bully Bull hitch cover with red LED eyes is only $24.16 on Amazon. Wow, they really do sell EVERYTHING on Amazon!

Our daily cow is colorful: it’s La Vache Orange

My cow of the day is the star of a French children’s book classic called “La Vache Orange” (The Orange Cow) by Nathan Hale:

This book was first published in 1961 and is well known among French people, young and old. Our poor cow gets lost, then is rescued by a grey fox, who takes her to his house and takes good care of her until the cow and her owner get happily reunited.

Looking at the cow’s very green tongue, the fox concludes that its bovine patient has been eating too much grass:

Is it even possible for a cow to eat too much grass? I’m guessing that fox is not too sly… especially when he tries to take the cow’s temperature with a baby bottle! Check out La Vache Orange when you need an entertaining read. It’s a favorite at our house.

Check out the cow logo on My Pillow Pets pillows!

The “My Pillow Pets” company clearly understands the subliminal power a cow can have when it comes to influencing purchases. During a shopping trip at WalMart this morning, both of my kids grabbed a My Pillow Pets pillow, strategically placed at their eye level. That’s when I saw it… the cow logo on both the product price tag, and on the tag stitched to the pillow itself.

Here’s our cute cow on the official My Pillow Pets website:

While at WalMart, I saw several Pillow Pets animals, including a panda, a dolphin and a dog. But no cow in sight, so I had to find out if they actually make a Pillow Pets cow and they do:

I’m guessing Amazon probably has the largest available selection of My Pillow Pets pillows, enough to make plenty of kids (and adults?) happy!

Le boeuf is our cow of the day

Today’s cow is French! As I was doing some research for a news post for my other website, BuyProductsFromFrance.com, I saw my cow of the day on page 2 of my research topic on Amazon (French posters).

Here it is, Le Boeuf, a beef diagram depicting the different cuts of meat on giclee poster print. Magnifique! If you need to brush up on your French vocabulary of beef cuts, this is your opportunity to do so!
